Absolute Poker Rakeback Deductions

If you have a rakeback deal, you may be surprised to find that the total amount you’ve paid in rake doesn’t always match exactly with what is used to calculate your rakeback. This occurs because of what are known as “rakeback deductions” – or various bonuses and perks that count against your rake total.

These deductions do not directly count against your rakeback; instead, they affect the total rake from which your rakeback is determined. For instance, if you are charged with $10 in rakeback deductions, that will lower your net rake by $10. However, if your rakeback rate is 30%, you will only lose $3 of rakeback (or 30% of that $10 in deductions).

Absolute Poker counts several different things as rakeback deductions, and it’s helpful to know what will count against your rake total before you get started. Here are some of the ways in which Absolute Poker calculates rakeback deductions.

Bonus Deductions

If you take advantage of the great Absolute Poker signup bonus, or any other bonuses thereafter, the money you clear from those bonuses will count as a rakeback deduction. This may sound like a raw deal, but your bonus is still making you additional money; each bonus dollar essentially cancels out a dollar of rake you would have paid, and the rakeback deduction for bonuses simply reflects that. Additional rake generated during the time when you’re clearing a bonus will still count towards your rake total as normal.

Processing Fee Deductions

If you’re using a withdrawal or deposit method that comes with fees attached, those fees will be counted against your gross rake total. However, this should be easy to avoid for most players; there are many banking methods available at Absolute Poker that are free for players to use, and thus won’t cause any rakeback deductions. Take a look at our pages on Withdrawal Options for US Players and Withdrawal Options for Non-US Players to see which methods are available to you!

AbsolutePoints Deductions

Beginning in March, Absolute Poker will also charge rakeback deductions when you use your AbsolutePoints to enter tournaments, purchase merchandise in the Rewards Store, or in any other capacity. However, the cost of each point will be very low. The current plan is to have each point spent cost just one penny against your total generated rake. That means that if you spend 100 AbsolutePoints to enter a tournament, your total rake deduction will be $1.
