Blackjack at Absolute Poker comes in many different varieties, but all use the same basic rules. For instance, all Absolute Poker blackjack games are dealt out of a six-deck shoe. This shoe is “shuffled” after every hand. Games are played according to standard blackjack rules, including a full 3-2 payout on blackjacks and the option to surrender or take insurance bets.
There is also an option $1 side bet available called Royal Match. This bonus game pays out based on your starting blackjack hand as follows:
Suited King and Queen: 20-1
Suited Blackjack: 3-1
Any Two Suited Cards: 3-2
But as fun as playing regular blackjack at Absolute Poker can be, that’s only the tip of the iceberg. Absolute Poker also includes Tournament Blackjack, a competitive version of the game that brings a whole new dimension to your blackjack play. In tournament blackjack, you’ll be placed at a table of six or seven players. Each player will start with $25,000 in tournament chips, and can bet anywhere from $500 to $25,000 on a given hand. Players will make their decisions in turn (as in poker, a rotating button will determine who has the advantage of acting last) in an attempt to accumulate as many chips as possible. Each player competes against the dealer as normal, but the goal is not necessarily to do the best you possibly can against the dealer – instead, you want to have more money than the other players at the table.
During the course of play, players will be eliminated from the competition. This occurs on hands 8, 16 and 25, which are known as Elimination Hands. At the end of each Elimination Hand, the player with the fewest chips is eliminated from play. Players can also be eliminated by running out of chips (or having fewer chips remaining than the minimum bet). Depending on the structure of the tournament, there may be multiple rounds, and various numbers of players may advance from one round to the next from each table. This information will be provided after each blackjack tournament begins, as will the prize pool.
Absolute Poker Tournament Blackjack has one additional twist – the Secret Bet. Once per round, each player may make their wager in secret, so that the other players will not know how much they’ve risked on that hand. When and how to use this Secret Bet is a huge part of Tournament Blackjack strategy, and a great bluff or a timely gamble can make the difference between elimination and winning the top prize!
